    Healthy Green Smoothie




    I start work very early, and don't always have time for breakfast. I don't get a break until 10 am, so by then I'm up for 4 hours already and would be starving. This is how my husband and I start our morning before work.

    Healthy Green Smoothie:

    I have a Vitamix , but you can use any juicer, start with:

    1 cup of milk, or almond milk, or soy milk
    1 cup of plain unsweetened or Greek Yogurt
    1 handful of spinach or kale
    1 handful of baby carrots
    1/2 green or yellow apple
    1 cup of frozen mixed berries ( I buy mine at Costco)
    1 Tbsp flaxseed or hempseed hearts ( we alternate), both can be found at Costco or a health food store
    1 scoop of chocolate or vanilla New Zealand whey protein powder.
    1/2 tsp of cinnamon
    1 squirt of honey

    Place all ingredients in Vitamix , or juicer, and blend until smooth, if mixture is too thick, you can add a little water a bit at a time, until you get desired thickness. Pour in glass and Enjoy.

    This drink is full of good ingredients, and fruits and vegetables. It will keep you full all morning, and give you lots of energy. It's also a great way to get those extra fruits and vegetables in, especially the ones we wouldn't normally eat like spinach or kale. You honestly don't taste the vegetables in this drink, because of the fruits. I hope you enjoy.

    I have a variation of this every morning. It keeps me about 2 hrs then ill eat a healthy snack. I also add papaya and aloe Vera juice to mine, just a little. You don't taste the aloe Vera juice at all. I don't usually use honey because I usually use vanilla or chocolate soy milk and it sweetens it pretty good, but I think I might start. Honey and cinnamon are two wonderful things for the body. I don't use whey powder because I usually get my protein source from egg whites. You can't taste those either. Some say the egg whites make it foamy but I haven't had a problem with that.

    I just did a 3-Day Dr. Oz Detox that was along the same lines as this...

    How did I miss this one? I was really great with my smoothies when I was eating healthy and exercising. Funny how you lose it all at the same time. I always use frozen spinach cuz it is easy and only takes a small bit to equal a LOT of fresh. Plus it lasts much longer than fresh. Lol New Years is hereso time toget back to smoothies and healthy life cuz right now I suck. Lol!

    For several years I've been into green smoothies, and I wanna share my favorite recipes.
    First one:

    • 1,5 cups water
    • 2 cups kale
    • 2 green apples, cored
    • 1/2 cup parsley leaves
    • 1 medium cucumber, quartered
    • 2 celery stalks, roughly chopped
    • 1 (1-inch) piece of ginger, peeled
    • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice

    Second one:

    • 1 cup frozen fruit (I recommend any tropical or berries mix)
    • 1 cup of fresh greens (My favorite spinach)
    • 0.5 1 cup of milk
    • 0.5 tablespoon ground seeds

    Third one:

    • 1 large orange peeled and segmented
    • 1 frozen banana and 6 frozen strawberries
    • 2 cups spinach
    • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
    • 0.5 cup of milk


    I use Bullet Blender and Bagotte Juicer, and they do their job very well
