    Tater Tots Casserole

    Attachment 1335

This is an easy go to meal that I like to make. It is fabulous because you dont have to cook the beef first so makes for fast prep time. I am not a fan of peas so I use fresh or frozen green beans. (fresh is much better of course) And I top it with cheddar cheese cuz I love cheddar. I also like to mix some soup in with the meat to give it more flavor then top it with extra. (I just use a larger size than stated)

1 1/2 lbs raw lean ground beef
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
    2 cups frozen peas
1 1/2 lbs frozen tater tots
    6 -8 slices American cheese
    salt and pepper

    1 Lightly grease a 9 x 13 pan (makes cleanup easier).

2 Spread beef in bottom of pan.

    3 Salt and pepper.

4 Cover with the can of soup; spread evenly.

5 Layer the frozen peas over the meat and soup.

6 Arrange tater tots in rows over the casserole.

7 Cover and bake at 375 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

8 Uncover and add slices of American cheese to top of casserole.

9 Bake uncovered for 15- 20 minutes, till cheese is brown and casserole is hot and bubbly.

Ok so I tried this but totally didn't follow all the directions.
I used ground turkey. I used the cream of mushroom soup. I don't like peas so I used green beans: only I didn't have frozen ones, I had fresh. Then I went to use my tater tots and found out I had hash browns, not tater tots. I used them anyway. It actually turned out pretty well. I didn't use the cheese on top because I'm lactose intolerance and don't buy cheese. All and all it was good. I think I will make it again with tater tots.
