I made these all the time when my kids were little, and they liked helping me make them.

1 1/2 c. butter or margirine, unsalted

3/4 cup powdered (confectioner's) sugar

3/4 tsp salt

1 1/2 cup finely ground walnuts

1 TBSP and 1 tsp vanilla

3 cup all purpose flour, sifted

extra powdered (confectioner's) sugar



Preheat your oven to 325 degrees

Cream the butter in a bowl, gradually add the powdered sugar and salt.

Beat until light and fluffy.

Add the nuts and vanilla.

Blend in flour gradually and mix well. Shape into balls using 1 tsp for each cookie.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes.

DO NOT BROWN!

Cool slightly and roll in powdered sugar.
