Thread: Lo Mein FAIL

So I got some nice lo mein noodles from the asian grocer, was looking forward to making some from scratch. I found a recipe that sounded pretty good-- but man it was NASTY tasting!!!! SOUR

I had to throw in about 1/2 cup of yoshida's original gormet sauce to try to save it. Still tastes pretty bad though.

FAIL!!!

Here was the ingredients, from frugalfeeding, I doubt I will be trying anymore recipes
Ingredients:

200g egg noodles
100g leftover chicken
3 tbsp dark soy sauce
2 tbsp sesame oil
juice of 1 lime
3 tbsp vegetable oil
thumb sized piece of ginger, sliced
1 clove of garlic, sliced
300g beansprouts
3 spring onions, roughly sliced
½ tsp salt
1 tsp soft brown sugar

However my dish LOOKS good, it just tastes awful!!!!

I think I do not like sesame oil or mine was racid. I just did not like the flavor combination at all! It tasted nothing like chow mien or LO mein I've ever had and I've had a lot!

It was just nasty.
