Crock pot juicy bbq pork ribs
I have fallen in love with my slow cooker -my husband wanted something different for dinner so off I went to the freezer to check what I got that he haven't had in ages -eureka! I found a bag of frozen BBQ pork ribs staring right at me! I always found pre "sauced/spiced" meats a bit bland so I thought I do my own version in a crock pot -the result-succulent and juicy ribs with very little effort
1kg meaty pork ribs fresh or frozen
Half a bottle barbecue sauce i used jerk bbq
1 vegetable stock cube diluted in half of cup of warm water
2 bay leaves
1 tsp coriander seed
1 tsp yellow mustard
1 tsp peppercorn black or mixed
Put 6 tbsp of barbecue sauce along with the rest of the ingredients into your slow cooker. Top up with half of cup of warm water diluted with vegetable stock cube Slow cook on Low for 4-6hours until very tender
Heat the oven to 220C/ 200C fan/ gas mark 7. Lay ribs on a tray and Baste with the remaining barbecue sauce and lay on a foil-lined oven tray. Cook for 10-15 mins or until starting to crisp on outside.Last edited by Pati Robins; 08-25-2014 at 07:44 AM.
