Beef Roast in Red Sauce
1 lb beef roast or sirlion tip steak
1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes
1 cup beef broth
1/4 cup red wine
1 Tbs dried minced onions
2 Tbs prepared horseradish
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp ground ginger
2 Tbs cornstarch
1 Tbs water
1 Brown beef in skillet to drain off fat. In a crockpot, combine all ingredients except for cornstarch & water. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Increase temp to HIGH. Remove beef from crockpot. 2 Blend cornstarch with cool water and then stir into broth in crock pot. 3 Cook gravy on high for 15-20 minutes.
I also add any stuff I have to use up in this, like bell peppers or tomatos (fresh). I will also double the recipe so there is more 'gravy' to serve over rice.Last edited by LariP; 01-20-2013 at 01:22 PM.
