Slow Cooked Swiss Steak
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon Hungarian sweet paprika
salt & pepper to taste
2 lbs. eye of round beef steak
1&1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Canola oil
2 large cloves garlic minced
2 ribs celery thinly sliced
1 - 2 thinly sliced onions
2 cans (14.5 oz each) tomatoes, or 5 med. fresh peeled and sliced
1/2 cup beef broth
Combine flour and spices in small bowl. Baste steak pieces with Worcestershire sauce then dredge in flour mixture. Heat oil over med. high heat and brown meat on both sides. Transfer meat to crock pot. Sprinkle garlic and celery over steak; then add onion and tomatoes. Pour beef stock into the hot skillet to loosen brown bits; pour over steak. This sounds yummy! Where do you get Hungarian sweet paprika tho? Never heard of it!
