Zingy Meatballs
I call these "zingy" because they have that "zippity-zing" to them...that's because of the chili and the cranberry mixed together creating this great burst of flavor! I loved these meatballs, and the sauce that you get from it is so tasty poured over plain rice or potatoes.
Ingredients:
1/2 lb lean ground beef and 1/2 lb ground turkey (or chicken)
1 egg
2 tablespoons water
1/2 cup Panko (or bread crumbs)
3 tablespoons minced onion
1 8oz can canned cranberry sauce
3/4 cup chili sauce
1 tablespoonful brown sugar
1 and 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
In large bowl mix the first 5 ingredients together; roll into meatballs.
Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes
In a large crock pot, over low heat, combine the cranberry sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar, and lemon juice.
Place the meatballs into the crock pot, and simmer for 1 hour.Last edited by LariP; 01-20-2013 at 01:07 PM.

Re: Zingy Meatballs
hmmm sounds good. I am lazy so would probably use the frozen turkey balls with the sauce.
