How do you organize your refrigerator?
I need help with my fridge. It's a mess right now and I KNOW i'm not making use of the space in there as efficiently as I could. It's like that secret closet you have in your house where you toss everything into when guests come over. That's what I compare it to because when I open that fridge door, who knows what will come out flying to land on my feet! :woot: I have soda cans laying on their sides, some are upright, a huge bottle of margarita mix that i barely use that's sitting diagonally and taking up so much space. Then there's the leftovers--all stacked up in various baggies and tupperware and then the door-storage space is equally messy with condiment containers, some with only a little bit of stuff left which i know i should just toss, and let's not even talk about the fact that the fridge needs a really good cleaning. Oh, and the freezer is a whole other story!
So, how do you keep your fridge organized and neat? Pictures of the interiors are most welcome!

I had a revaluation the per day, and weeded out all my sundry butter bowls, etc and bought some glass storage containers. (Pyrex) it really made me feel good to get that conglomerate mess straight.
Now I have a good assortment of various sizes, and they're all see-through... It has helped a LOT with the fridge! No more mystery containers...
My fridge is not for the faint of heart. It ALWAYS has a light dusting of dog hair on the bottom threshold... The pups always protect me when the door is open, or perhaps they're browsing, too?
I'll share what mine looks like.
Beer, gin & tonic makings, chocolates.
Bread stuff, carrots floating in water (they were getting limp), lemon?
Greenery, milk, glass storage with beef & barley in it!
Greenery.
Cheeses & lunch meat stuff.
Greenery, including limes for Gin & Tonic.
Greenery.
Dog hair...

Nice pix, Tracy!
I too have been using more glass bowls w/lids for food storage. I like the "clean" look of glass plus knowing what's in there is a big plus too. Dog hair...having two bulldogs, i can relate to that too!

Re: How do you organize your refrigerator?
Well, I have a garage fridge for beer, soda and things I buy I multiples that don't get used daily so that helps me big time. Right now my fridge is kinda empty since it is almost shopping trip time..... Oh the pups..... They r great at standing in front of the door aren't they?!?!

I also have those pyrex containers. I started using them to bring my lunch and dinner to work because I didn't want to heat food up in plastic containers anymore because of the danger of BPH.
I also have various sizes of mason jars. I store refrigerated items in them as well as dry goods. When I only have a little bit of something left, I transfer it to a smaller jar.
I also try to store all my Asian stuff on the top shelf, which I made small. My perishables right in the eye level shelf. I have 3 bins. One for eggs and meat. Two for veggies. I just try to keep like items together. Don't ask me why I have 4 different types of hot sauces...We may live without poetry, music and art; We may live without conscience, and live without heart; We may live without friends; we may live without books, But civilized man cannot live without cooks.

I agree about the pros of using glass containers vs. plastic. Even for storage, plastic may not be the safest (depending on if they're BPA safe or not).
Funny that u mention Mason Jars b/c I'm planning on getting some myself. I just like the way they look and they'll be perfect for putting my smoothies in (as well as flowers)!

Henny I never noticed how deep the door space is, I guess it is huh? Course it is full to the max so not sure it is deep enough.
previous owners set this fridge back not the garage space. Cut out the wall so that it is counter depth even if it isn't. One of the best things here. Lol think I need to get Pyrex dishes cuz we do use plastic which of course will cause cancer.

Ooh nice! I just cleaned out my freezers yesterday, what a coinkidink! It was horrid, had to get rid of boxes and organize the Popsicles etc without them. What a waste of space they r, my gawd! Now I know what I have and can find it.
