    Kitchen Mishaps!

    Kitchen Mishaps!

Have you had a kitchen mishap?

This morning was so weird. First, I filled my dogs' big ceramic container with kibble and as I walked thru the kitchen, it slipped and dropped on the floor...pieces of glass all over the floor, kibble everywhere. I was so frazzled...b4 I could clean it up I decided to search for another container to put the kibble in, climbed up a step stool and found another ceramic container, went up to reach for it , that one slipped out of my hand, dropped on the counter, ricocheted on a measuring cup filled with milk, smashed that to bits and of course, the 2nd ceramic was history too. Looked like a war zone in my kitchen ... Milk, ceramic chunks and kibble all over the place. My pooches huddled in a corner in disbelief at what their mommy had just done. I don't know what made me so clumsy this morning. Now I'm out two of my pretty ceramic containers plus a measuring cup!

What kind of kitchen disasters have you experienced?

Ooh Henny, I think you should stay out of he kitchen the rest of the day. glad you dint get hurt! Even more glad the pups didnt try and start acting the kibble. Thinking mine would have! I have had days that feel like they will end like your day is going but never had so much bad luck at 1 time thankfully. Cannot think of all my messes right now but I know there have been many!

Yeah, I'm staying home today...no going out as I already did all my errands earlier in the a.m.!

The pups knew whatever was going on in the kitchen was off limits and i think they were scared about all the noise I created.

I'm just going to lay low, take it easy, and stay away from sharp objects for the rest of the day, LOl!

Lol great idea! I'll have to wait to share when I have my next one. I'm drawing a blank right now, must be because I've blocked them out. Lol

Now I've really done it! Tonight, as I was hand washing some dishes I managed to knock over my French Press and it broke Usually, I keep the glass part enclosed in its protective rubber-like "cover", but since I was trying to clean it really well so it wouldn't get moldy, i took it apart, and then THIS happens! Crap! So far this month I've managed to break two of my beautiful ceramic canisters both of which were presents to me, a glass measuring cup, and now, my beloved French Press. Why am I so clumsy?!:angry2:

@Ftse 100, a French Press is basically a coffee pot that uses ground coffee beans and a plunger. It's a fabulous way to make great tasting coffee
@cali~jenn...maybe you got sumptin' there...paper plates and plastic utensils for the rest of this month!

Oh, and just one last (hopefully) rant re. my coffee pot being kaput. So, last night I took out my Bialetti Espresso Pot...a gift from a coworker which I've used like once or twice at most. You cook the coffee on the stove top. Anyways, this a.m. I was making my cup of coffee in it--just got it to finish boiling, turned the oven off, went to pour it into my ready-and-waiting mug, and I manage to knock over THAT pot onto the stove top...pouring all the coffee out, spilling it all over. I was so bummed b/c the coffee smelled so good. Luckily, no breakage here...the pot is made of stainless steel at least!

    thank goodness for instant coffee

What a day you had! The funniest kitchen mishap I ever had was after a couple of bloody Mary's. I was putting groceries away and caught the side of a can of Coke on the metal rack of the fridge in a condo we were borrowing at the beach. The rack poked a hole in the can, it flew out of my hand, landed on the floor and started spinning, spraying that sticky mess everywhere. It was all over the refrigerator, under the cabinets, on the walls, EVERYWHERE. My friend and I sat on the floor hysterically laughing-- then spent hours scrubbing.

I won't go into details, but as I sit here, I am waiting for a plumber because my husband decided to fix the sink in the kitchen tonight.
