Re: Daily Poll: Bacon or Sausage?
From what I remember Spam is sorta kinda like EXTRA salty ham, only different. We grew up eating it often because it was apparently cheap. I haven't had it in probably going on 20 years now.

We had some on the grill for lunch by the pool a few weeks ago. It is salty, but they also have a low sodium version now. It wasn't as bad as I remembered and the kids liked it!

I've never had spam either, but I really want to try it. I really love bacon, sausage, and ham! Yummy yummy yummy. I also hate the cleanup of bacon, so what I do now to cook it is I get a thick baking sheet, line it with foil, and lay out the bacon in a single layer. I put the tray in a cold oven and set it to 400 degrees. I get perfect crispy bacon in about 15-20 minutes depending on thickness of the bacon. I get them out right before they are to my liking because they continue to cook from the residual heat. I evacuate them to a paper towel lined plate to drain. Then I can just roll up the foil to clean the pan. So easy! House still stinks all day though. Lol

Good tip sheila. I know Rachel Ray does it on a broiler pan which I thought was smart but I cant fit a lot on my pan so never made sense to do it that way. Using a baking sheet though you can get a lot on there, I like that idea.

I buy the premade bacon from Costco. Just put it in the microwave and it's done. I know, I know.... It can't be good you are thinking. But it really is!!
