UNBELIEVEABLE! Be careful not to burn your FOOT in the kitchen!!!
So, I was making butter beans tonight. I turn it on high and let them boil for about 15 minutes with the lid on.... well....
I took the lid off to give them a good stir. Upon removing the lid, the boiling hot condensation (with a bit of butter splatters added in) dribbled off the lid and onto my sock where it spread like fire!!! So now I have a big 1 inch by 4 inch burn on the top of my foot right above my toes.
Bag of ice and a big sock for now, but as soon as the ice melts my foot is on fire again. So I just wanted you all to learn from my lesson, don't burn your FOOT in the kitchen!

Yike I know I'm late to the game and this will sound weird but if you put mustard on it it WILL take the pain away. It stings for a second then it' like a miracle. Burnt my finger tips the other day and did this worked great. Hope your foot is feeling better. ALso I don't think I'll be cooking barefoot any longer

Mustard?! That's a new one. A have burn gel that hubby brought home from work when it exited and that works wonders to help relieve the pain as well. Oh and I gave heard ice us actually not good to put on a burn cuz you would have to leave it on forever to make a diff. That's why it hurts more when you take it off.

I think they said to actually make ice or cold water help you would have to leave it on for hours. Have heard (dont know if it is accurate) that warm water or hot water actually helps. My mom said this and the funny thing was I had just recently burned myself and was washing dishes after which of course hurt like heck BUT after the burn felt like it was gone. My mom told me this after and I thought it was interesting that it did work that way for me. Of course not with a real major burn I am sure but with the ouchies we get all the time it did seem to.

Well the next day I found I have this lovely blister on my foot. Still there today. How pretty, thought I would show it off! Boy that photo sure makes my foot look LOVELY. Like a hairy monster foot! Oh well, not into foot modeling anyway!OMFG I just clicked the picture to make it larger! NO FRIGGIN WAY is that my foot. I took this photo early in the morning with my hubby's phone. LOOK at those hairs!!!! Seriously! And what are all those wrinkles? Now I am willing to bet you all think I have the ugliest, hairiest, wrinkliest feet. Well, I made you laugh didn't I? I will take a new photo for redemption! That is not what my feet look like!I also look like I must have some sort of disease!

you r funny! I burned my finger on hot oil a couple weeks ago and the blister was so bad that it didn't stop filling with fluid for 2 weeks. Didn't know it was that bad at the time even. Hope this one heals up fast! Will be waiting for your redemption photo. Lol

Thanks I will probably not have time. And yes I think I need to take that photo to photoshop. It kinda reminds of a guy going up to a hot chick on the beach and she turns around, it's an old lady with no teeth!
I wouldn't want someone to judge my recipes by my feet!!!
