Sometimes I forget the stove is on
I know how to hard boil eggs (most of the time), but my problem is to remember that I'm even boiling anything at all! Geez, last night I boiled 4 eggs for the coming week since i like eating them for lunch; I told myself, 'you better put an alarm on for 7 minutes', but of course, I ignored my own advice. Only about 2 hours later did I remember i had a pot of boiling eggs on the stove. No more water left though.
Thank goodness they were on a very, very low simmer. The smoke detector didn't even go off and that thing is super sensitive.
Okay, just thought i'd share my kitchen stupidness of the day. :bonk:

Lol. You dont set the timer? I would screw up everything without a timer to tell me when everything is ready. So... Your eggs were cooked then?

Talk about yer HARD BOILED eggs... <blink, blink>
Didja eat one today?
How was it??
I live with timers... I have five alarms that go off during my day, plus anything else I have to do gets a timer! I have NO concept of time. Kinda a glitch.

The eggs were actually edible! A bit rubbery, but still edible
I set a timer when I bake or cook something substantial. I will reconsider that now tho to include boiling eggs.

Re: Sometimes I forget the stove is on
About 30 years ago i had a pan of boiled eggs explode when I forgot them. I had chunks of egg to clean off of the ceiling. Lucky you remembered when you did.
