Re: Favorite kitchen gadgets
Hmmm.... still deciding between that idea and the pressure cooker..... I do have one of those convection oven thingys that are huge and round. It is so big and bulky that I dont leave it out which means it doesnt hardly get used. I apparently do have many gadgets, lmao. I do have a juicer cali baker. I have the jack lalane juicer that hubby got me last year or so I think. I LOVE it but the cleanup gets old fast so I hardly use it. I too have the montel juicer which is nice if you are making a BIG smoothie for a lot of people. I am too lazy to use that too so it is the emersion blender I use mostly for smoothies. I have the cuisinart 1 Jessica Brooke, nothing ridiculous in price either. Bought it based on reviews for a gift, had to buy me one too. haha What is a tuna drainer?

Wow! Pressure Cookers sure look different now-a-days... <blink, blink> I have an old set-on-the-stove type with the rubber gasket and twist off lid and rocker-thingie on the top. Use it a LOT though...
That's pretty groovy... I really may need to look into one of these!
LOL! My grandmother had a hilarious story about this strange stain on her kitchen ceiling that NEVER would paint under... an entire roast with veggies funneled up and through the little rocker vent-hole one evening and deposited dinner on the ceiling! I never heard WHO had picked up the rocker weight off of the vent hole - but apparently ~someone~ did!

Lol that's funny! I actually have no idea how to use a pressure cooker really. Just know my parents used the stove top type when I was a kid. The electric one looks like it would've safer and easier, plus very versatile. I buy rotisserie chickens at the store almost weekly anyhow and they r good price so I am leaning towards the other. Would at least give me new cooking ideas I think... Now have to go online and buy the thing already. Lol

Re: Favorite kitchen gadgets
Ok, late at reporting back but I think I might be in love..... I got this electric pressure cooker that also browns, slow cooks etc.... Holy wow! Works amazing so far. It browns awesome. I used it for my spaghetti sauce, browned the meat etc in there and then added everything to it to slow cook for the day. So much better than messing up 2 dishes! Not sure how it compares to a reg pressure cooker but the other day I cooked frozen boneless, skinless thighs for 20 minutes and they were done. For me that is awesome cuz I often forget to plan what needs to defrost. Lol

hey, that's cool! i have never learned to use a pressure cooker before but that one sounds really useful. It's a combination slow cooker too?
I was going to mention electric wine opener as another gadget to buy. I heard someone on the radio today and he loved his.

Oh you could go crazy in those shops BB&B it was the first time I went in one this year and I could have bought so much but I coudn't get it home. I have been thinking of buying a pasta machine you know that rolls it out and cuts it in all the fancy shapes the only thing concerns me is getting a good rice pasta recipe otherwise its just a waste of money.
A few of my favourite gadgets
Garlic crusher, good potato peeler, good frypan, my electric mixer, George forman health grill and nicer dicer which I use just about every day.Last edited by Ftse 100; 12-04-2012 at 12:17 AM.
