Favorite kitchen gadgets
What are everyones must have gadgets? I have a gift card that I need to spend on something to bed bath and beyond and havent figured out what I want yet. lol My favorite newer gadget is my immersion blender. It is easy to use and does everything even makes smoothies with quick clean up. I LOVE gadgets and have a ton of them but many get unused which I think happens with most people.

Jenn, I have the same "dilema" as you too! I have a gc from BBB as well and i have no idea what to get. But that's kind of fun, isn't it?
I love my immersion blender as well. Lately been making shakes for breakfast so i've been putting it to good use. Gadgets I love: hand held mixer, mini food processor, colander in different sizes, really good vegetable peeler, metal tongs for cooking pasta with or for stir fry, non-stick omelet pan, Belgian waffle maker, pancake griddle, rice cooker. Do you need a coffee grinder, or a French press maybe? or how about a smaller slow cooker for making dips and sauces with. I also have a fondue set which is fun but i rarely have used it. I also would love an air popcorn popper.
Happy shopping!

Re: Favorite kitchen gadgets
Well I actually need a new big crock pot but they r expensive there and I have found bigger elsewhere so I would hate to waste this card on that. I do have a wonderful smaller one and I agree it is a must for parties! I was thinking I would love an electric garlic roaster (bought one formy mil last year or so) but for some reason they r sold out everywhere. Ugh... Hate roasting garlic in the oven but I love the flavor. So... I am still on my mission. I have my food processor that I love so that is out. I would feel guilty spending too much over my card so I am limited too. I don't grind my own coffee, never have thought to actually. I have tons of pots and pans. Decent knives but a good good knife is way expensive so hats out too. I have searched online and it is driving me crazy. Lmao.

Be careful on getting a slow cooker or crock pot... I discovered that the majority of them are now made in China, and the lead levels are something to consider in the crock's glaze.
Rival was bought out by Jardin, and their wording is kinda fuzzy regarding the lead content.
I use cast iron pots and pans for the most part, and have very few "gadgets." Sorry I don't have any good suggestion(s) for ya... LOL!
Y'know, one thing I would like to have would be a food dehydrator. I use the oven for dehydrating, but my sister has a badddddddazzzzzzzz dehyd. Maybe, if you're into that kinda thing?

Re: Favorite kitchen gadgets
Ooh I have one that my sister bought me a few years back, keep forgetting to bust it out. I used to make some awesome beef jerky with it. I hadnt thought of crock pots as dangerous, good thinking! Dang it tho, now I will have to pay a LOT for one, if I can find a USA made one anyhow. hahahahahaha

Re: Favorite kitchen gadgets
The kitchen gadget I use the most is my crock pot and toaster oven. My toaster oven is BIG and does not heat up the house like the regular oven, so I love it living in Arizona. My toaster oven also has a rotisserie in it so we do whole chickens and roasts.... OMG they are good!

Lisa I do need a crock pot so that is a thought in my head now, love them! The toaster oven is a new idea tho.... Something we have never had actually. Not sure I need another big thing on my counter. What kind do you have? You love it obviously right? It is a thought!

Re: Favorite kitchen gadgets
oh yeah, my toaster oven is one of my favorites too! it's a big one as well so i hardly use my regular oven. Mine is a Breville toaster/convection oven. I even bake cookies in there. I think people have even made a Thanksgiving turkey in that one too tho it would have to be a smallish turkey!
Downside for me is it does take up a lot of counter space which i don't have much of, but i still love it.

Re: Favorite kitchen gadgets
I came across this, a pressure cooker that does slow cooking and more. Thoughts?

Will be my crock pot too. Looking at the ovens and a good size would be expensive i think.

Re: Favorite kitchen gadgets
that looks pretty nice, tho i'm not a pressure cooker cook. My mom used her's a lot though but i'm intimidated by such an appliance--i think i'd blow something up!
i was thinking, how about a good juicer? i've been drinking my breakfast lately so now i'm considering shopping around (or at least researching), a juicer.

Re: Favorite kitchen gadgets
you should buy a basket to hold all your gadgets. haha! My favorite one so far is this tuna drainer. It's the perfect size. My mom just bought it for me when we went to the swap meet. How much was the immersion blender?? I am loving the montel williams one...but that thing is HUGE and it is a pain in the butt to clean the bottom of it.
