What is your favorite kitchen utensil that you could not live without?
I love my cheap 99 cent spatula. I use it everyday. I have a drawer full of spoons, spats, ect but this one is my favorite. I really need a new one, but I cannot find one like it. It is made of plastic and all white, but I can just seem to work with it perfectly.
Hubby bought me a really expensive lovely set of kitchen utensils last year, but they are so heavy it is just not the same.
I think maybe I could find a new one at a 99 cent store!

I guess mine would be a meat fork I have. It is nice and narrow so it grabs meat real well. It also has a thinner wooden handle. I have received two others before and they are too bulky and don't seem to stick and grab as well. I also Love wooden spoons. I prefer those over any other type of mixing device.
I also like my glass measuring cup that you can read while holding in the right hand and pouring from the left.....

If you can make something fun instead of a chore, that's great. To me it was always a chore, even with help.
I never had one until i was about 45 and once I got one I swore I wouldn't be without one for any length of time ever again if I could help it.
When I met Bruce he didn't have one here. I told him getting one was a pre-requisite. And pestered him about it until he did get around to installing one. He was reluctant to lose the cabinet space because we don't have much of that.
Even loading the dishwasher is enough of a chore that when I'm doing that I count my blessings that I'm not back to doing dishes by hand. Of course these days Mr. House husband does most of the loading and unloading, so it's almost moot point. But I think he agrees that we will never be long without one. He sure didn't let any grass grow under his feet replacing ours a couple years ago once the first one we had broke.

I love my wooden spoons, they are the best thing for creaming and getting air into spongecake mix.

this spreader from pampered chef is my 'go to' tool for most all my prepping. i have replaced it once because my first one disappeared about a year after i got it and i was lost with out it. it's great for spreading butter, cutting cake, preparing sandwhiches, etc.....it's used almost daily.Amy

Mine is a wooden spoon, sort of, it is wood and it is cut straight across like a spatula on the bottom with a rubber grip, I think I have had it about 10 years! I use it for everything.

sheshistory A wooden spoon was my paddle of choice as well. Passed down from my mom. Since I'm a long distance Grammy I don't have anything to do with their discipline.

I agree with LariP the dishwasher is a huge one. @desertsky you amaze me more everyday. Seriously as many hands and paws as you have to work around and yet you wash the dishes by hand too?!?!?! No thank you!
I LOVE my food processor although that isnt much of a utensil is it?
