    Tell the truth.... how often do you deep clean your refridgerator?




    I am curious! My fridge is always so full I find it a pain to get in there and clean it up good. I am in desparate need to go to the store but going to wait until Monday (I hate the stores on the weekends!). Fridge looks a bit bare so I figured today is a good day to do it! So my guess is a wipe down of shelves every few weeks if I think of it, but deep clean.... oh maybe once a year!

    I am horrible, I know.....

    I probably do it quarterly, or if it gets overly "gross"! I do wipe down w/vinegar-water mixture in a spray bottle when the urge strikes tho so it doesn't get too dirty.

    Oh, shoooooot. You're doing GOOD, girlie!

    I bet I only really clean-clean it every FEW YEARS!

    But ... that said: I do take out one shelf at a time, as I notice that they are getting smudgey (glass shelves and two plastic drawers) and wash them with hot/soapy water. So they are always "pretty clean."
    We have dogs, so the "threshold" is always icky looking, and it gets wiped down every weekend or so... The dogs LOVE to stick their heads into the door with me, when I am gazing/browsing/planning.

    Funny you should ask this, as TODAY we ripped out a cupboard next to the fridge -- so he got pulled out, wiped down on the outside, floor mopped underneath him, etc. Which is the second time in five years, I've seen the floor underneath him!

    It made me miss Pewter... I found a secret cache of hidden dog hair back there!

    I wipe shelves as needed but only deep clean maybe every year or so. Funny you mention the dogs [MENTION=72]TraciInTexas[/MENTION] I know what you mean. That dang meat drawer at the bottom is like a huge tease for my girl pup. Apparently previous owners fed her raw meat and anytime I put some in there she makes it almost impossible to close the door.

    Ours is horrid currently...and that's something I used to be very anal about. Guess I'm just getting tired in my old age and my house husband just doesn't care about such things. He will wipe a spill if it is really bad, but for the most part just doesn't notice.

    I do about quarterly. Or if company is coming and big events. Same with cleaning under the stove and frig

    I would say every few months. We have friends and family over for BBQs, little get togethers, etc fairly often & I just can't stand the idea that anyone would get in my fridge & it be dirty. Especially my mom & mother-in-law because they like me are real clean so they would notice if it were dirty, if either of them come over I clean EVERYTHING!

    I wipe the shelves and purge old/ outdated foods weekly, when I go grocery shopping. And pull it totally apart about twice a year.
