All U-Can-Eat Buffets
What do you guys think of these types of restaurants and do you have a favorite place you like to go to?
When I was younger my family would frequently go to a place called Perry's Boys Restaurant here in Pasadena. I have fond memories of getting my tray, plate, utensils...very cafeteria style, and choosing the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, jello, and anything else I wanted and as MUCH as I could eat! Wow, that was pretty cool concept for an impressionable kid like me back then!
For holidays like Easter or Mother's Day, we'd often go to hotel restaurants for their buffet brunches; again, lots and lots of food to choose from and something for everybody's palates.
These days though, I tend to not go to all-u-can eat places b/c there's just TOO much food for my appetite. I usually don't get my money's worth and I just prefer a regular, sit down dinner anyways.
How about you?

I used to love them, like you especially as a child.
I worked at a sizzler and another buffet for sometime though, I think that is when I outgrew it.
The food is usually not very tasty and somewhat bland. And many times not fresh. I do however still love me a good Chinese buffet!

I'm with you guys, there's always way to much food to eat, and a lot of it is high fat, high calorie dishes, and you just feel bloated and uncomfortable after you leave. We had all you can eat buffet meals when we went to Jamaica and you just tend to eat way to much. But I do like Chinese Food sometimes.

Re: All U-Can-Eat Buffets
We used to do a good Chinese buffet that was actually really good. (Most aren't) now we hardly go out to eat anyhow so we don't go to buffets really. Now all you can eat sushi.... My fav! Such a good way to get to try almost every diff kind of roll. If we r talking Las Vegas tho, I love a good buffet! The rio has a fabulous seafood buffet that is my favorite! Al you can eat lobster tails, omg! Mmmmmmmmm

I used to go to this all-u-can-eat sushi place, a long, long time ago, and would stuff myself silly w/sushi b/c that's one of my favorite foods!
Desert Sky, you just reminded me of another childhood fave...Sizzler! we used to go there often too...Malibu Chicken, anyone? LOL! and they had good cheese-garlic bread and we loved that salad bar!
One place i still go to once in awhile is Soup Plantation, aka Sweet Tomatoes in other areas/states. I like building my own salad and they have some yummy desserts there too

I make Malibu sauce for chicken strips sometimes, it's just mayo with a smidge of mustard!
The bread- Texas toast with a mixture of butter and Parmesan cheese blended and spread on top, grill it on a flat grill- easy as... Toast! Lol
