Refill your Swiffer for pennies
2 C white vinegar
1 C ammonia
Remainder is water
Refill your Swiffer WetJet with this and you can clean any floor except wood. Wood floors, skip the ammonia (degreaser) as it will dry your wood out too much - which means 2 C Water/2 C Vinegar.
Instead of buying the little diaper thingies for the Swiffer - use old towels or a MicroFibre. They stick to the velcro-ish strips pretty well and can be washed & used again!

The first time or two you have to crank that lid off, soak it in super-hot water (just under boiling) for a few minutes to make it easier to remove. After a few times, it gets easier to remove, and you won't need the hot water.

Re: Refill your Swiffer for pennies
I never have used the swiffer but you are making me want to try it out. My floors have the natural type of stone cracks and raised bumps so dirt kinda gets moved around into there it seems if I dont just use a good ol mop, which I do hate with a passion.
