I have had so much fun eating outside my usual "comfort zone" of five veggies...
Dear Hubby discovered that he loves Collard Greens, Kale, etc.

Oh.... my... gawsh... You MUST come over for dinner one night and try them! They are so wonderfully good... and cheap... and good for you.
They were one of the easy-to-grow items that poor folks could enjoy in a family garden patch, even with poor soil. Very popular in rural VA when I was a kid.
My sister found a great way to cook them while she lived in Brasil - and I think I've posted it up on here. If NOT, then I will remedy that immediately...

We have similar cooperative programs available here, but it is so expensive. Being a New Yorker, we are always afraid we are being ripped off. They don't get real specific about what you will be receiving.

LOL! ... beware the green stuff!
I once dated a guy who claimed to "be allergic to green." Yes, green - as in the color.

I think the $35/box is a rather pricey. I know I could go to the store and come home with much less of a bill. But what I am signing up for is more along the lines of MAKING ME broaden my repetoire of veggies... They send me stuff I would NEVER pick up by myself. LOL! But being a frugal kinda chick, I cannot WASTE the produce... so I research the item, and invent something to do with it.
So far, I have been tickled with the produce and have discovered that I really like several new things.Which was my New Year's resolution this year - to widen my veggie consumption by trying one new thing each month. This just force-feeds it to my fridge!

That lettuce "mix" looks like someone took the weedeater down my the river bank...
Oh, and that is Charli -- she likes GreenStuff and is waiting patiently for her portion! LOL!
