Tuna & Bacon Pasta Fina
Have had this recipe for a looonnng time and was afraid to make it but finally did and it turned out so much better than I could have thought. So easy and everything is stuff you can have on hand for a quick go to meal. You could do anything with it, even add a little alfredo if you wanted but it was good as is with just a more plain pasta. I also added the whites of green onions to the pan with the tuna and when done topped with the green parts.
Ingredients:
8 ounces angel hair pasta
1/2 lb bacon
1 (6 1/2 ounce) packet tuna in water, may use canned tuna drained
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
black pepper
parmesan cheese
Directions:
1 Fry the bacon in a pan. When bacon is done, drain on paper towels.
2 Keep the bacon grease in the pan. (Note: You can reduce the amount of bacon grease you use if you so choose, just keep enough so it doesn't get dry).
3 Put the tuna and garlic in the pan with the bacon grease and heat over medium heat - stirring occasionally. Do this for approximately 5 minutes.
4 Season with black pepper (optional).
5 Crumble the bacon strips and place back in the pan with the tuna & garlic.
6 Heat for another minute or two.
7 Boil your angel hair pasta.
8 When pasta is done put into a large bowl.
9 Transfer your bacon & tuna mixture from the pan into the bowl of pasta.
10 Toss all ingredients to incorporate all the flavors.Last edited by LariP; 01-21-2013 at 03:48 PM.
