Sardine H'orderves
Today I'm baking some sardine and liverwurst treats for my two favorite boys. I found a similar recipe online and adapted it using sardines as the main ingredient, with a little liverwurst to give it some extra special flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 C. Flour
- 1 C. Cornmeal
- 1 Lg. Egg (lightly beaten)
- 1 tin of Sardines (in spring water)
- 1/2 C. water
- 2 T Oil
- 2 T. Liverwurst
- 1/2 C. Parmesan Cheese
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Mix flour and cornmeal in a bowl
- In a large separate bowl mix the egg and oil and combine
- Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture a little at a time and stir well
- Fold in the sardines and liverwurst; continue to mix until firm
- Add the water a little at a time to the dough while still in the bowl and using hands, gently knead the dough
- Put the dough on a cookie sheet and press gently until in completely covers the cookie sheet (about 1/4″ thick)--I used parchment paper and sprayed with some cooking spray first
- Sprinkle the spread out dough with Parmesan cheese--as little or as much as you'd like
9. Bake for approximately 15-18 minutes or until firm; remove from oven and let cool
10. Once cool, using a bread knife, cut into small pieces, and place into jars or plastic Zip-Loc bags and refrigerate (may be frozen)
