October Recipe Challenge...Boo!
Welcome to our Monthly Recipe Challenge!
October's recipe challenge is going to be:
Grab Your Favorite Halloween Candy/Chocolate and Incorporate It Into a Recipe. It can be a dessert, it can even be a savory dish (chicken mole for instance)...whatever you'd like it to be. Try to be as creative as possible and since Halloween is just around the corner, you can even make it SCARY!
Here is how the challenge works:
To enter the challenge, simply reply to this post with the recipe you plan on making. Once you make it, take a photo of your dish, post the recipe in the "Monthly Recipe Challenge" forum, and tell us about the recipe you chose. Did you love it or hate it? Did it need something different? Next time you make it would you change anything?
No matter how the dish turns out, we will have a lot of fun trying new ingredients, testing our pallettes, and exploring new cooking adventures together!
Each participant will receive the gorgeous new Magenta Ribbon Award to "SWEETEN" up their user profile with!

It doesn't have to be a Sweet Treat, does it?
I'm contemplating some Fall Soup for tomorrow...

Darn! I've been so busy this month (and it isn't going to let up anytime soon), I haven't been able to cook or bake anything!

Re: October Recipe Challenge...Boo!
Would Banana Bread be close enough to sweet? I don't do candy. :'(
Oh, I can put an M&M on the top of it... would that count?

Re: October Recipe Challenge...Boo!
I'll be rolling out my entry tomorrow night. I just need to dip it in melted chocolate. And chocolate is not my "candy" portion of the entry! If it tastes good that is.
We may live without poetry, music and art; We may live without conscience, and live without heart; We may live without friends; we may live without books, But civilized man cannot live without cooks.

Re: October Recipe Challenge...Boo!
When I stumbled across this KIT KAT CAKE online, I knew I just had to make one for myself! This incorporates some of my favorite candies…M&M's (dark chocolate and peanut butter ones), and Kit Kats, on a chocolate cake. I also added some S'more Candy corn at the base of the cake.
I'm going to bring it into work tomorrow to share otherwise I just might eat the entire thing myself!
Recipe:
This was very easy because I used a boxed yellow cake mix. Simply make the cake--I baked two round layers. Take some chocolate frosting and frost the cake. Then just stick the Kit Kat bars all around the cake and fill the top with M&M's. That's it!
