Simple Syrup
You can purchase a bottle of Simple Syrup at the store but why not make your own? This is an essential item to have especially if you like making some fun cocktails at home. It can be made in a 1:1 ratio of sugar to water, or 2:1. This latter ration is the standard one used in most cocktails.
Like the name says, it's quite "simple" to make!
Simply add 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup of water; gently heat until all the sugar is dissolved. Allow it to cool to room temperature, then pour the syrup into a clean bottle...and that's it! It's now ready to use. No boiling is necessary when making simple syrup and best to store it in the fridge.

Re: Simple Syrup
My Mom used this when we were kids. My Father demanded UnSweet Tea, and the rest of us prefer Sweet Tea. This saved having to make two batches of tea...

Wow, really simple. I never tried it before although my mom used to make it all the time.
