Fresh chunky salsa
Fresh chunky salsa
20 roma tomatoes
1 red onion
3 -4 cups fresh cilantro
1 jalapeno
1 yellow pepper
2 limes
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
3 -4 tablespoons minced garlic
jalapeno juice
salt and pepper
2 (2/3 ounce) packets salsa mix (McCormick)
Directions:
I just cut everything into half or so then toss into the food processor in bits. The first half of the tomatoes and spices I pretty much liquify so I can get the onions and peppers and cilantro chopped small. then I chop the second half of the tomatoes bigger by pulsing them in the processor which give the chunk to the salsa. After everything is mixed and in the bowl I add my salt, pepper, lime, tomato sauce, garlic, jalapeno juice, and salsa seasoning packets. let this set for a couple hours or over night. the longer it sets the better the flavors all come together. I like to make it a good day before a party to be sure it tastes its best.Last edited by bullmama; 01-22-2014 at 09:20 PM.

Re: Fresh chunky salsa
So I have made 4 batches of this so far and love it! Haven't tried the restaurant style salsa yet, but will have to. I just love this because my garden isn't ready yet and we have been hitting up the farmer's market for fresh veggies which make such good salsa. I have been putting this on everything!
