Trader Joe's Chocolate Croissants
If you're lucky enough to have a Trader Joe's nearby you, I highly recommend you get these chocolate croissants.
At just around $5.00, they come frozen, in a package of 4 croissants. You have to thaw it overnight for about 9 hours, then bake in the oven for 20 minutes. They're definitely a delectable treat!
This pic shows how big they get after you allow them to rise--on the left is what they look like frozen, and the right is after 9 hours at room temperature:

Re: Trader Joe's Chocolate Croissants
I read this earlier today and showed Bruce. He had been looking for an excuse to go somewhere and we like Trader Joe's so we decided to go.
We also went to Menards first because I needed a new coffeemakerbecause the auto on/off feature of my old one hasn't been working right.
They had them and on sale for $3.99. They also had some Almond ones, but perhaps we'll try those another time.
I also like to get the Sushi they have at TJ's Most reasonably priced deli sushi in the area too so that was dinner tonight.
Bad news is when we got back in the Jeep to come home our battery had literally died while we were in there. Ended up having to get it jumped by a good samaritan in the parking lot. Then Bruce had to go with our neighbor get a new battery. He's out installing it now. Ended up being an expensive spur of the moment shopping trip.
Upside of the Jeep breaking down at Trader Joe's is that it is frequented apparently by a lot of nice people. One guy went back to his house to get his jumper cables and we had at least 4 others offer to help while waiting for him. Ended up another guy actually did the jumping because he had the opportunity before the first guy got back. But we had so many nice people offer. If this had happened at my office it would have been a whole lot worse.Last edited by LariP; 09-01-2013 at 04:34 PM.

LariP, glad you guys went to TJ's today and got the croissants. Besides that and the sushi, what else did you find? i love hearing what others get at Trader Joe's! I get a bunch of snacks there--my favorites are the wasabi peas (really spicy and crunchy), the roasted plantain chips, the different hummus dips are really good too...i could go on and on!
sorry to hear about your car battery tho but glad it turned out to be a positive experience in the end with all the kind folks helping out!

Re: Trader Joe's Chocolate Croissants
Well we didn't go too overboard, because that's something easily done there. We got a bag of the TJ salt and pepper potato chips. Tried them last night and they are Yummy! Especially with some good french onion dip we had already.
And haven't tried them yet but got frozen Chicken Tikka Masala Samosa's. It's a small box, so just enough to try them out as an appetizer some night soon.

I haven't tried those chips yet but those do sound yummy. The other frozen item i really like is the French onion soup--comes two in a box and you bake them in the oven. They really do taste home-made...soooooo good!!
