Creole Green Beans
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 (14 ounce) package frozen green beans or use fresh
- 6 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 1/2 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon creole seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- kosher salt
Directions:
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in green beans, bacon, onion, green pepper, and garlic. Cook and stir until onions are transparent, about 2 minutes or so.
Season with cayenne pepper, Creole seasoning, and black pepper.
Cover skillet, reduce heat to low, and simmer until the beans are tender, about 20 minutes. Season to taste with salt, if desired. We may live without poetry, music and art; We may live without conscience, and live without heart; We may live without friends; we may live without books, But civilized man cannot live without cooks.

This sounds like it packs a punch w/all the spices. I love the combo of bacon w/green beans. Gotta look for that Creole seasoning.
