1905 Salad
This is a recipe from a Cuban Restaurant in St Augustine FL. They actually at one time handed there best recipes out, this paper is probably the oldest one in my recipe book (over 25yrs)
Compliments of the Columbia Spanish Restaurant
1/2head Iceberg lettuce 3 oz ham julienne
2 tomatoes, diced 1/4cup pitted Spanish Olives
1 celery Stalk, diced 2 T Romano cheese
3oz Swiss cheese, julienne
Dressing (the most important part)
4 garlic cloves, minced Juice of 1/2 lemon
1tea oregano 1/2C olive oil
1tea Worcestershire sauce 1/8 C white vinegar
for dressing, place all ingredients except oil and vinegar. whisk in oil then slowly whisk in vinegar, when well mixed pour over salad and mix well
This is so popular that I have to make double. Sometimes I even make it the meal.Last edited by LariP; 01-19-2013 at 03:56 PM.
