Tutorial: Typing special characters
¼ ALT+0188
½ ALT+0189
¾ ALT+0190
º ALT+0186
™ ALT+0153
You can also copy and paste several different characters by using the Character Map that is built into Windows. Just go to
Start Menu----> Accessories-----> System Tools----> Character Map
You won't believe all the different things you can "type"!!!!

Ummm alt + 0 is the degree with the ipad...you see what I got with holding alt and pressing 0186 above.

Oh and I'm using a zagg mate keyboard..that might make a differenced over the internal keyboard or even the apple standard one.

I am revisiting this. Since I got my imac and someone posted the symbol thing on Facebook.
I still only need alt + 0 to do º Perhaps its a MAC thing???
