Perking Up Tea
The very best way of naturally adding sweetness to your tea is to make sun tea. OR, slow brew it in the ice box. Never boil it as that makes it bitter. I bring water to a simmer, remove from heat and add to my tea jug. I add the bags of tea and let sit in the ice box until it is the strength I like.
When the tea is still hot, adding honey and lime (I hate tea with lemon) gives a good taste if you like honey.
I've played with adding fresh herbs...like mint, dill, sweet basil.Lemon grass is good too. Maybe this will help.
Since I'm a diabetic though, My first and favorite choice is the slow brew or sun tea because it brings out the natural sweetness.Last edited by LariP; 01-20-2013 at 02:31 PM.
