Ingredients
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium bananas)
• 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
• 3 cups powdered sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
• Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and set it aside.
• Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
• Step 3: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and mashed bananas until well combined.
• Step 4: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until incorporated. Avoid overmixing.
• Step 5: Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the bars to cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
