Ingredients
• 1 pound ground beef
• 1 onion, diced
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
• 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
• 1 cup beef broth
• 2 teaspoons dried oregano
• 1 teaspoon dried basil
• 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 12 ounces dried pasta (such as penne or spaghetti)
Instructions
• Step 1: In a large skillet or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
• Step 2: Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
• Step 3: Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
• Step 4: Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld.
• Step 5: While the sauce is simmering, cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain the pasta and set aside.
• Step 6: Add the cooked pasta to the beef tomato sauce and toss to combine.
