Ingredients

• 1 pound fresh mushrooms, cleaned and stems removed
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon onion powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
• Vegetable oil for frying


Instructions

• Step 1: Clean the mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp paper towel. Remove the stems, leaving the caps intact.
• Step 2: Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with the flour, one with the beaten eggs, and one with the breadcrumbs mixed with the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
• Step 3: Dredge the mushroom caps in the flour, dip them in the beaten eggs, and then coat them evenly with the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
• Step 4: In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded mushrooms and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
• Step 5: Transfer the fried mushrooms to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot and enjoy!
