Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole

  • Author: Jasmine
  • Total Time: 60-70 minutes

Ingredients

• 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
• 1 cup uncooked wild rice
• 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
• 1 cup milk
• 1 cup frozen peas
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
• 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

• Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or butter.
• Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the diced chicken, uncooked wild rice, cream of chicken soup, milk, frozen peas, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir until all the ingredients are well-mixed.
• Step 3: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly. If desired, top with the shredded cheddar cheese.
• Step 4: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the rice is tender. Remove the foil during the last 10 minutes of baking to allow the cheese to melt and the top to become lightly golden.
• Step 5: Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
