Ingredients
• 4 boneless, tenderized cube steaks
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
• 1/4 cup vegetable oil
• 4 soft, toasted burger buns
• Desired toppings (e.g., lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayonnaise, etc.)
Instructions
• Step 1: Pound the cube steaks between two sheets of plastic wrap or wax paper until they are about 1/4 inch thick. This will help tenderize the meat and ensure even cooking.
• Step 2: In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, salt, and black pepper. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
• Step 3: Dredge the pounded steaks in the flour mixture, dip them in the beaten eggs, and then coat them with the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to help the crumbs adhere.
• Step 4: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Carefully add the breaded steaks and fry for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
• Step 5: Drain the fried steaks on a paper towel-lined plate, then assemble the sandwiches by placing a steak on each toasted bun and topping with your desired condiments and toppings.
