Crockpot Salsa Verde Chicken

  • Author: Jasmine
  • Total Time: 6-8 hours

Ingredients

• 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
• 1 jar (16 oz) salsa verde
• 1 cup chicken broth
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 teaspoon cumin
• 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for added heat)
• Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

• Step 1: Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of a crockpot. Pour the salsa verde and chicken broth over the top, then sprinkle with the garlic, cumin, oregano, and cayenne pepper (if using). Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
• Step 2: Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and shreds easily with a fork.
• Step 3: Remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred or slice it. Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot and stir to combine with the salsa verde sauce.
• Step 4: Serve the crockpot salsa verde chicken warm, garnished with your favorite toppings such as diced avocado, chopped cilantro, or crumbled queso fresco.
