Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together using a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Beat for about 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the creamed butter-sugar mixture, mixing just until incorporated after each addition. Be careful not to overmix.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans, smoothing the tops with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove them from the pans and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
- Once cooled, frost the cake with your desired frosting and enjoy the fluffy, delicious results!
