Ingredients

  • 📌 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 📌 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 📌 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 📌 1 cup milk, at room temperature

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together using a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Beat for about 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the creamed butter-sugar mixture, mixing just until incorporated after each addition. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans, smoothing the tops with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove them from the pans and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
