Ingredients
• 3 pounds beef chuck roast
• 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon onion powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 4 cups beef broth
• 8 (6-inch) Italian rolls, split lengthwise
• 1/2 cup giardiniera (Italian pickled vegetables), optional
• Provolone cheese slices, optional
Instructions
• Step 1: Place the beef chuck roast in a slow cooker. Sprinkle with the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Pour in the beef broth.
• Step 2: Cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the beef is very tender and easily shreds with a fork.
• Step 3: Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded beef to the cooking liquid.
• Step 4: Toast the Italian rolls until golden brown. Divide the shredded beef evenly among the rolls, spooning some of the cooking liquid over the top.
• Step 5: Top with giardiniera and/or Provolone cheese, if desired. Serve the sandwiches with the remaining cooking liquid for dipping.
