Ingredients

  • 📌 2 cups Korean radish (mu), peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 📌 1 cup fish cakes, sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • 📌 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 📌 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 📌 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 📌 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 📌 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 📌 2 cups water or broth
  • 📌 2 green onions, sliced
  • 📌 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or wok, combine the sliced rice cakes, Korean radish, and fish cakes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the garlic, gochujang, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the rice cakes and vegetables, then add the water or broth.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the rice cakes are tender and the sauce has thickened.
  5. Stir in the sliced green onions and continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, if desired.
