Ingredients
• 1 (15.25 oz) box yellow cake mix
• 1 (29 oz) can sliced peaches in juice, drained
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
• Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round baking pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
• Step 2: In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir until well mixed. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
• Step 3: Arrange the drained peach slices in a single layer over the brown sugar mixture, overlapping them slightly if necessary.
• Step 4: Prepare the yellow cake mix according to the package instructions. Pour the batter evenly over the peach slices, being careful not to displace them.
• Step 5: Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
• Step 6: Carefully invert the cake onto a serving plate. Let it cool for an additional 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
