Ingredients
• 1 lb (454g) thinly sliced sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch pieces
• 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
• 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
• 2 cups (240g) shredded provolone cheese
• 1 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese
• 1 tbsp (15ml) olive oil
• 1 tsp (5g) garlic powder
• 1 tsp (5g) onion powder
• 1 tsp (5g) dried oregano
• 1/2 tsp (2.5g) salt
• 1/4 tsp (1.25g) black pepper
• 1 pre-made whole wheat pizza crust (or make your own)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This high temperature will ensure a crisp, golden-brown crust that can support the generous toppings.
- Prepare the Steak and Veggies: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak, onions, and bell peppers. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is cooked through and the vegetables are tender. Season with the garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Assemble the Pizza: Unroll or stretch the pizza crust and place it on a lightly greased baking sheet or pizza pan. Spread the cooked steak and vegetable mixture evenly over the crust, leaving a 1-inch border. Sprinkle the provolone and mozzarella cheeses over the top.
- Bake to Perfection: Place the assembled pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Slice and Serve: Remove the Philly Cheesesteak Pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve hot, garnished with any additional toppings of your choice.
