Ingredients
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup water
• 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
• Vegetable oil for frying
• Cinnamon-sugar mixture for dusting
Instructions
• Step 1: In a medium saucepan, bring the water, sugar, and butter to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves.
• Step 2: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the flour and salt until a smooth dough forms. Allow the dough to cool for 5 minutes.
• Step 3: Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star-shaped piping tip. Pipe the dough directly into the hot oil, cutting the dough with scissors or a knife into 4-inch pieces.
• Step 4: Fry the churros in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Drain the fried churros on a paper towel-lined plate.
• Step 5: While the churros are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat evenly. Serve hot and enjoy!
