Ingredients
• 1 pound fettuccine pasta
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
• 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
Instructions
• Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta and set aside.
• Step 2: In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, gradually whisk in the heavy cream until the mixture is smooth and emulsified.
• Step 3: Reduce the heat to low and gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese, a little at a time, until the sauce is creamy and smooth. Season with black pepper and salt to taste.
• Step 4: Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce and toss gently to coat the noodles evenly. Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
