• 1 pound fettuccine pasta
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter
• 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
• 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
Instructions
• Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
• Step 2: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the heavy cream and whisk continuously until the mixture begins to simmer, about 2-3 minutes.
• Step 3: Reduce the heat to low and gradually add the Parmesan cheese, whisking constantly until the sauce is smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
• Step 4: Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
• Step 5: Serve the fettuccine alfredo immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
